About Charles Kolodkin
From 2005-2020, Charles Kolodkin was the executive responsible for Enterprise Risk Management and insurance operations at Cleveland Clinic, one of the country’s largest healthcare organizations, whose flagship facility is consistently rated among the nation’s finest hospitals. He oversaw all risk management activities of the enterprise, including risk finance, captive operations, managing claims, and administering the enterprise risk management (ERM) program.
Experience & Education
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in 2005, Mr. Kolodkin was senior vice president at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., advising multi-hospital systems, physician groups, and managed care organizations in the areas of risk management and risk finance. For more than 10 years, Mr. Kolodkin also served at the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas as the officer responsible for risk management, insurance, professional liability litigation, and captive operations. Mr. Kolodkin has over 30 years of experience in the insurance business with the past 25 devoted exclusively to the healthcare industry.
Mr. Kolodkin received a B.A. degree from Miami University (Ohio); an M.B.A. degree from the University of Georgia; and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law.
He has also been awarded the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and both the Fellow and Distinguished Fellow designations from the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM). Mr. Kolodkin has been recognized as one of the top risk managers in the country by Risk and Insurance magazine.
He is active in numerous risk management and insurance professional organizations on a local, national, and international level, participating on committees, holding elective office, and speaking at conferences.
Mr. Kolodkin currently resides in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin with his wife, Wendy and golden retriever, Lainie.
